Welcome Letter From Principal Arizmendi
Dear Parents, Students & the Guantanamo Bay Community,
I am honored to introduce myself as the new Principal of W.T. Sampson Elementary High
School, and I am excited to join this wonderful school community here at Guantanamo Bay,
Cuba! While I may be joining in the middle of the school year, I want you to know that I am
fully committed to making the remainder of this year a positive and enriching experience for
every student, staff member, and family.
As a Veteran of the U.S. Army and a former military child myself, I understand the unique
challenges and opportunities that come with life on a military base. Our school is not just a place
of learning, but also a home and support system for the families that serve. I'm here to make sure that every child feels safe, respected, and empowered to succeed, no matter where their journey take them.
During this transition, my priority is to listen, learn, and build strong relationships with students,
parents and teachers. I will be working closely with our dedicated teachers and staff to ensure a
smooth continuation oflearning, while also making sure that we maintain the values of
excellence, resilience, and respect that define our school culture. I truly believe that education is a partnership, and I look forward to collaborating with you throughout the rest of this school year. Your feedback, ideas, and involvement are invaluable, and I encourage you to stay connected with us. Together, we can provide the best possible environment for our students to grow and thrive.
I'm excited for the opportunities that lie ahead and to be part of this strong, supportive
community. We are in the process of creating a meet and greet for our community; that
information will be communicated in the coming week. In the meantime, please feel free to reach
out to me if you have any questions or concerns, and I look forward to meeting many of you
soon.
Â
Thank you for your continued support, and let's make the second half of this school year an
exceptional one!
Warm regards,
Chester J. Arizmendi
