Student vs. Staff Basketball Showdown at the Valentine Pep Rally! In the highly anticipated annual game of the year the Staff (Golden Buccaneers) triumphs over Students (Grit of the Green & Gold)! The game had the entire school on the edge of their seats! They played two 10-minute halves. Both teams brought their A-game, but in the end, experience won out, with the Golden Buccaneers securing a 25-18 victory over their student challengers.
The MVP goes to Ms. Echols, who dominated the court. But it was a true team effort—Mr. Hoffman, Ms. Schonacher, Mr. Limes, Mr. Treadwell, Ms. Becky, Ms. Echols, Ms. Treat-Liciaga, and Ms. Moreno all showed up, proving that the WT staff have some serious skills on the court! Not too shabby for the Golden Buccaneers!
A huge shoutout to Mr. Rickey Clark, our amazing referee, for keeping the game fair and exciting. The atmosphere was on point, thanks to Ms.Treat, who kept the music pumping! A special thank you to Mr. Kimmel for capturing the action for the yearbook and to Mr. Happel for letting us use the gym, organizing equipment, and keeping score!
None of this would have been possible without the hard work of our Student Government Team—Cole, Dawson, Kai, Stacy, Amiyah, Maddie, Twain, Trevyn, & Logan. They played a key role in planning the event. Their ideas came to life with the help of staff stepping up to support student activities! And in case you missed it—the Spirit Stick has been claimed by the GOLD Team (grades 7, 9, 10), which was represented by RED at this pep rally! What an unforgettable game!
