This past week, W.T. Sampson Elementary/High School came together to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our middle and high school students at the annual Pirate Scholars Academic Award Ceremony. This event recognized students who have demonstrated excellence in their studies, earning accolades for their GPAs as well as accomplishments in art and English Language Arts.

Students who achieved a GPA of 3.00-3.49 were honored as Pirate Scholar Honor Roll recipients, while those earning a GPA of 3.5-3.99 were recognized as Principal’s Scholar Honor Roll recipients. The highest distinction, the Community Superintendent’s Honor Roll, was reserved for students who earned an impressive GPA of 4.00 and above.

In addition to academic achievements, students were celebrated for their creative and literary talents. Awards in art and English Language Arts highlighted the incredible dedication and hard work of our young scholars, showcasing the talents that make our school community shine.

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Captain Mike Stephen and Command Master Chief Kenneth Nixon of Naval Station Guantanamo Bay, as well as School Liaison Officer Daniel Saraceni, for attending the event and supporting our students. Their presence made the celebration even more special and meaningful.

The ceremony was a wonderful moment of recognition, celebrating the dedication of both students and educators. As the school year continues, we look forward to seeing these bright minds continue to excel and inspire. Congratulations to all our Pirate Scholars!
