Celebrating the 2025 Spring Choir Concert

On March 27, 2025, the W.T. Sampson ES/HS auditorium was filled with the harmonious sounds of our Middle School and High School students during the Spring Choir Concert. The evening was a testament to the incredible talent and dedication of our young musicians.
The concert featured a variety of performances, with students not only singing but also playing instruments and showcasing original pieces. The creativity and hard work of our students were evident in every note and melody, making the event a memorable experience for all who attended.
Choir teacher Ms. Alissa Plewa deserves special recognition for her outstanding leadership and commitment to the choir. Her passion for music and her students' growth was reflected in the exceptional quality of the performances.
**Quotes from the Evening:**
Ms. Plewa, Dawson, Dawson’s mother, Lorraine, and Eston-Charles were asked about what the W.T. Sampson music program and this concert meant to them.
- **Ms. Alissa Plewa:** "It feels amazing. My passion is spreading joy through music, and helping people connect through music, and it feels really awesome to have witnessed these students put on such a fantastic and successful performance. I am very thankful for everyone involved that helped us."
- **Dawson Lee:** "It gives me motivation. There was a point I didn’t really want to go to school, but I have chorus today, and so being able to perform and have the opportunities to perform my own songs with a lot of creative freedom is really helpful."
- **Dawson's Mom, Lorraine Lee:** "Oh my gosh, we love it. Every time we hear anything or every time he says we’re going to sing or I’m going to write a song, I get excited to come."
- **Eston-Charles Villanueva:** "I really like the environment and something about the personal connection that we make, not even just the music or what we play, like you know everybody. I feel like the music is that much better because we all know each other, we all feel comfortable around each other, we take risks, and tonight with the concert and stuff, I probably wouldn’t have performed if I weren’t here, but because I knew everybody, it helped."
The concert was a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate the achievements of our students. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Ms. Plewa and the choir for their amazing job. Thank you to everyone who attended and supported our young musicians.
Let's continue to encourage and celebrate the musical talents of our students as they inspire us with their dedication and creativity.
