Vegetable and Fruit Classifications

Students are learning about how vegetables and fruits are classified. Students participated in a lab where they had to test the differences between fresh, frozen, and canned green beans. They had to note the taste, color, and texture of green beans. To determine taste, smell, and texture, students also completed a taste test of various apples (Granny Smith, Golden Delicious, Red Delicious, Fuji, Gala, and Honey Crisps). Students also learned the history of the apple.Â
This lab was an excellent way for students to have hands-on experience with the differences in foods. Â
