Month of the Military Child

The Month of the Military Child is in April and W.T. Sampson Unit School will have a spirit week starting April 15th to celebrate our students.  W.T. Sampson Unit School and our School Liaison, Sam Smith, are proud to announce that we are collaborating with the following to ensure that our students are celebrated: Navy Federal Credit Union, The Navy Exchange, The Fleet and Family Support Center, MWR, and the CYP.  Thank you to everyone for supporting our students. 

One way you can celebrate and participate is by forwarding your silly family photos.  We will have a prize for the silliest family photo.  Military members are also encouraged to make a video speaking about how they appreciate their military child.  There is much more information to come and if you have any questions, please contact Kelly Treat-Liciaga at kelly.treatliciaga@dodea.edu.

Purple Up Art Contest

W.T. Sampson in collaboration with sponsorship of the NEX is excited to announce the Month of the Military Child Art and Essay Contest, an art contest for all ages for the Month of the Military Child. Each age group category winner will be awarded with a NEX gift that was provided by the NEX in support of the Month of the Military Child.  

Theme: The experience of a military affiliated child.  

Create a piece of art that reflects or write an essay on what it means to be a military child or a child affiliated with the military. NEX Gift Cards will be awarded to the winners! Categories: Grades K-2, Grades 3-5, Middle/High School.
