March News from the Nurse
April is National Autism Awareness Month and according to the Autism Society it “is a complex, lifelong developmental condition that typically appears during early childhood and can impact a person’s social skills, communication, relationships, and self-regulation. The Autism experience is different for everyone. It is defined by a certain set of behaviors and is often referred to as a “spectrum condition” that affects people differently and to varying degrees.” Diagnosis can be challenging and it important for families to consult with their medical providers when their child is hitting those developmental milestones. With early identification and intervention appropriate educational and home-based support can be provided. Curious about those developmental milestones?
