One of the most cherished places for WT Sampson’s 3rd graders is the Information Center (IC) — and at the heart of it all is the incredible Ms. McGinty!  Ms. McGinty arrived at WT Sampson at the beginning of the school year from Honduras where she was teaching at an international school prior to resuming teaching with DoDEA. She has quickly integrated into the school culture and became a vital member of the team!  Ms. McGinty says "I'm excited to be a part of the wonderful faculty at W. T. Sampson as well as to start a new adventure here in Guantanamo Bay".   

Each week, our students eagerly look forward to their time in the IC, where Ms. McGinty creates a warm, welcoming, and wonderfully organized environment. Her passion for literacy and learning shines through in every lesson she teaches.

Whether she’s helping students discover their next favorite book 📖, guiding them in research and inquiry 🔍, or designing creative, hands-on activities 🎨🧠, Ms. McGinty makes learning both fun and meaningful. Her lessons spark curiosity, build essential skills, and foster a lifelong love of reading.

Ms. McGinty’s dedication and enthusiasm make a lasting impact on our students and school community. Her work goes far beyond organizing books — she inspires young minds every single day.  She makes an impact by living out her favorite quote "I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”  ― Maya Angelo.
