Announcements for National Honor Society
Current National Honor Society and National Junior Honor Society members will have a lunch meeting in Ms. Davis’s classroom on Wednesday, September 17. Please bring your lunch upstairs so we can get started quickly. See Ms. Davis if you have any question.
On September 20, there are two volunteer opportunities for WTS students, NHS/NJHS members, and families to give back to our community while also earning volunteer hours:
- Ferry Landing Beach Cleanup sponsored by the MWR Base Library at 0800 until 0930-ish. Meet at the gazebo; water and PPE will be provided; students will need to have their own transportation, but Ms. Davis will chaperone middle and high school students; elementary students must be supervised by a parent; bring your volunteer form to record your hours. POC: michelle.davis3@dodea.edu
- VFW Post 12225 POW/MIA Flag Run at Cooper Field from 1500-1700. Meet at Cooper Field; bring your own water; help carry the POW/MIA flag around the track as many times as possible by walking/running to raise money in support of bringing our POWs/MIAs home; students will need to have their own transportation, but Ms. Davis will chaperone middle and high school students; elementary students must be supervised by a parent; bring your volunteer form to record your hours. POC: michelle.davis3@dodea.edu and/or gtmovfwpost@gmail.com
NHS and NJHS members should plan to participate in at least one of the volunteer events on September 20: Ferry Landing Beach Cleanup at 0800-0930 or VFW Post 12225 POW/MIA Flag Run at 1500-1700. See the info above for more details. POC: michelle.davis3@dodea.edu
